Capcom has the SF series that they can bearly renew. SF 4 was the first real sequal in how many years? How many SF2 versions are there? Also, this would be like a the owners of the Yankees buying the Red Sox. It just wouldn't feel right.
If anyone buys the series, I would love it to be someone who respects the game's history, and the depth of the game. I wouldn't want someone just to get the series and start introducing new characters who don't fit into the game.
I personally think that EA may see this as a great way to make some additional money. Fighters doesn't require that much developement time, so they could get a game out each year as they do with most of their games.
I would like to see Activision take over the reigns, or maybe even Microsoft. Both I think would be able to help the series out, and give it some much needed tweaks that the series needs.
