The Following are achieved by playing through campaign to get these (story progression)

1. Green as Grass - Train the rook (any difficulty) - 10
Very simple, at tha start of the campaign choose training the rook option and not skip. Its a humours quick recap. Don't forget to watch out for those monkey Dogs.

2. It's a Trap! - Story progression in Act 1, Chapter 2 - 10

3. Escort Service - Story progression in Act 1, Chapter 4 - 10

4. Girl About Town - Story progression in Act 1, Chapter 6 - 10

5. That Sinking Feeling - Story progression in Act 2, Chapter 4 - 10

6. Freebaird! - Story progression in Act 2, Chapter 5 - 10

7. Heartbroken - Story progression in Act 2, Chapter 6 - 10

8. Longitude and Attitude - Story progression in Act 3, Chapter 3 - 10

9. Tanks for the Memories - Story progression in Act 3, Chapter 4 - 10

10. Water Sports - Story progression in Act 3, Chapter 6 - 10

11. There's a Time for Us - Story progression in Act 4, Chapter 2 - 10

12. Better Wrapped in Beacon - Story progression in Act 4, Chapter 3 - 10

13. Have Fun Storming the Castle - Story progression in Act 4, Chapter 6 - 10

14. And the Horse You Rode in On - Story progression in Act 5, Chapter 1 - 10

These following achievements for completing the game are stackable

18. Tourist of Duty - Complete all campaign acts on Casual Difficulty - 25
This is a very easy one, simply finish the campaign on Casual.

19. Guerilla Tactician - Complete all campaign acts on Normal Difficulty - 50
Like the above, play through on normal and you will get this, if you do this first without doing casual you will also get Tourist of Duty.

20. Artist of War - Complete all campaign acts on Hardcore Difficulty - 75
Like the above and is stackable.

21. Suicide Missionary - Complete all campaign acts on Insane Difficulty - 150
First off you must have finished campaign on one of the previous diffiuclities first.

The trick is, your profile plays through on insane taking it slow and hiding at the tricky bits, while the other profile plays through on casual or normal. (Recommended casual) The other profile will tear straight through the locust.

22. Collector - Recover 5 collectibles (any difficulty) - 5

23. Pack Rat - Recover 20 collectibles (any difficulty) - 15
Please see Completionist.

24. Completionist - Recover all 41 collectibles (any difficulty) - 30

25. One-Night Stand - Complete 1 chapter in co-op on any difficulty (Marcus or Dom) - 10

26. Open Relationship - Complete 10 chapters in co-op on any difficulty (Marcus or Dom) - 30

27. Friends with Benefits - Complete all acts in co-op on any difficulty (Marcus or Dom) - 50
Unlike with the first Gears you get these for playing as either of Marcus or Dom.

28. Once More, With Feeling - Perform 30 perfect active reloads (any mode) - 10
If you don't know how to active reload press RB then RB again when the moving bar crosses with the white section. Can be done in any mode

29. Takes a Licking - Melee 30 Tickers (any mode) - 30
As it says, Melee a ticker with 'B'. You can get this by replaying Act one, Roadblocks on casual and just keep reloading till you get it.

30. Organ Grinder - Kill 30 enemies with a cover mounted Mulcher (any mode) - 10
Can be done in any mode. You just have to be in cover. You can either shoot off the side of cover or over the top.

31. Shock and Awe - Kill 30 enemies with the heavy Mortar (any mode) - 10
Can be done in any mode.

32. Said the Spider to the Fly - Kill 10 enemies with a planted grenade (any mode) - 10
Take a Frag and melee a wall for it to stick. Put them in choke points where lots of enemies go.

33. Crowd Control - Melee 10 enemies down with the Boomshield equipped (any mode) - 10
As stated, just melee 'B' 10 enemies while equiping the shield.

34. Smells Like Victory - Kill 30 enemies with the Scorcher Flamethrower (any mode) - 10
Like it says, just cook up 30 enemies over any mode.


35. Variety is the Spice of Death - Kill an enemy with every weapon in the game (any mode) - 30
The trick with the ones above are to just get them in ranked/campaign/ horde or you can boost them. Simply make a private local game on king of the hill, sign in with a guest on a second controller. Then start the game up, grab the weapons you want and simply keep killing them via the way the weapon requires you too.

36. Standing Here, Beside Myself - Win 3 matches of Wingman (public) - 10
Self explained

37. Beat the Meatflag - Capture 10 meatflags in Submission (public) - 10
Meatflag is GoW's version of CTF. You just have to capture 10 yourself. (Pick up downed flag with 'A' and carry to capture point)

38. It's Good to be the King - Win 10 rounds of Guardian as the leader (public) - 10
As the leader, survive the round by not dying.

39. You Go Ahead, I'll Be Fine - Win three matches of King of the Hill (public) - 10
Self explained

40. Crossed Swords - Win 10 chainsaw duels (any mode) - 10
Chainsaw an enemy with "B" at the same time, and rapidly mash the "B" button.

41. A Parting Gift - Kill 10 enemies with a grenade while down but not out (any mode) - 20
While holding a Frag, when your downed, an option/symbol for the Right Trigger [RT] with appear, pull it and you'll drop the frag. Boom goes the dynamite.

42. Pound of Flesh - Use a meatshield to save your life 10 times (any mode) - 10
Pick up a downed enemy with "A" and the shield must be shot or blown to pieces. The easiest way to do this is to tag a downed enemy with a grenade and pick him up with "A". He'll blow up in your arms, leaving you uninjured.


43. Back to Basic - Successfully complete the 5 lessons of multiplayer Training Grounds - 10
Like it says, just play the 5 lessons, they're really not hard and a great way to learn how to play gametypes.

44. Party Like It's 1999 - Play 1999 rounds of multiplayer (any mode) - 30
Self explained. Works on any Multiplayer mode, including Horde.


45. Around the World, Again - Win a multiplayer match on each map (any mode) - 30
Just play and WIN on the maps that come with it, there are 10. (not DLC maps)

46. Dirty, Dirty Horde - Survive the first 10 waves of Horde (any difficulty, any map) - 20
Play the first 10 levels on horde, can be done solo or with a group.

47. Hoard the Horde - Survive all 50 waves of Horde (any difficulty, any map) - 30
This one will take some time and effort, i recommend having a fuill party of good Gears players, as 40-50 is hard. I would also recommend playing on casual. Yeah i know its super easy at the start but when you get to 40-50 you will die ALOT. I recommend the maps Blood Drive and Jacinto. on average it takes 4 hours from 1-50 depending on player skill.

All you have to do is complete all 50 waves. You do NOT have to start from wave 1 every time. Mansion is a very easy map - Schmo

48. Photojournalist - Submit a spectator photo - 10
Take a picture while in multiplayer. When your dead press "B" to take the photo and then go to log book (main menu) and upload "Y" it to Gears.com. (note requires XBL)

49. Kick 'Em When They're Down - Perform all 11 unique executions on a downed enemy - 10
Can me done in anymode.

50. Seriously 2.0 - Kill 100,000 enemies (any mode) - 50
Ok. So this is the big one every Gears nut will want. Unlike its brother, this one can be done in any game mode.
There are 3 methods of getting it:

1. Just play Gears of War 2 lots, be a MP whore and you will get this, over alot of time.

2 & 3. Its just methods, in case people haven't got this far.
*SPOILER BELOW*
Method 2
On Act 1,
Get up to the bit where the locust start coming out of the holes, use the troika to take them out, you should get from 100-50. Once you have killed them, reset to last check point and doing it agian and repeat.

Method 3
Go to the final level where you ride the brumak and keep playing over and over again. Average of 150 kills on insane.

These last 2 methods will take around 10 hours of grinding but if you're an achievement addict you would rather spend 10 hours grinding rather than in MP.

The following are added Achievements through the new DLC and the Flashback Maps. You must have these maps and the title update to get these Achievements. The following Achievements are of the self-explained type. They also can be done in a private match with bots if you like.

51. Skeletons in your Closet - Complete waves 1 through 10 on all Flashback Map Pack maps in Horde (any difficulty) - 20 points

52. More Mystery, Less History - Win a multiplayer match on each of the 5 Flashback Map Pack maps (any mode except Wingman) - 15 points

53. Bound by a Shared Past - Win a Wingman match on each of the 5 Flashback Map Pack maps - 15 points

54. Trial by, and on, Fire - Survive first 10 Horde waves on Combustible Map Pack maps as a team - 20 points

55. The Roof! The Roof! The Roof... - Win a multiplayer match on each of the 3 Combustible Map Pack maps (any mode except Wingman) - 15 points

56. Forged in the Fire - Win a Wingman match on each of the 3 Combustible Map Pack maps - 15 points

57. Annex: Now With Execution Rules - Win an Annex match on each Flashback and Combustible Map Pack map (public matches only) - 75 points

Sorry for the late reply.

Stackable means that if you get a higher achievement of that type, it will unlock the lower ones at the same time.

For example: If I play all the way through on Insane difficulty, I'll unlock the Insane achievement, along with Hard, and Normal Achievements.
