"Gary Thorne and Bill Clement of ESPN provide the commentary, and though it's nice to hear them again after ESPN dropped hockey, the repetitive and sometimes incorrect calls, especially in shootouts, get to be annoying. Despite a few minor flaws, the wait was worthwhile - EA Sports has delivered a very solid hockey game. Everything feels smooth and refined, and while everything could be refined even further, this lays the groundwork for next-gen hockey."

"After missing out on the Xbox 360 launch last year, EA Sports' hockey series finally makes its debut on the console. But was it worth the wait? Well, that depends on how quickly you can adapt to the Skill Stick control scheme, where all your actions are pulled off via the right analog stick. Some will enjoy this new method of play, while others will struggle as they go from offensive to defensive moves in frustrating transition. Past that, the game looks fine and features strong audio, but comes up just a little short in the modes. While the Dynasty Mode continues to carry a strong load, it's tripped over by a somewhat below-average online outreach. Sorry, EA, you guys come up second this year to NHL 2K7, but at least it's an admirable second place and not some last-second slap-together of a game. Keep chipping away at it and let's have a colossal battle next year."

I think it's a better game then alot of the hockey games made as of right now.

just got it today. i like it alot better then 2k7. the graphics are better and the gameplay is good.

i cant make up my mind. I LOVED NHL 2K6 last year, and I've always been a huge 2k fan when it comes to hockey. but idk, it may be different on the 360. I was literally addicted to the 360 version of 2K6 last season, and got through like 5 seasons with the rangers..

im not sure which game to go with. both look good, and sometimes ill here NHL 07 is tons better, then ill read another review which says NHL 2K7 blows 07 away.

im so confused.
