First off, for anybody who doesn't quite know what Windows Media Center Edition 2005 (MCE) is, I will explain it. It has a digital video recorder like TiVo to record TV shows and movies for you. It also allows for you to easily browse through your music/photo albums . It is a very nice piece of technology to add to your collection, but can be a little difficult to set up for people who are new, or just not great with the 360. It also requires that you have a Windows Media Center 2005 or later PC. This comes standard with most new computers running on Microsoft Windows. If you have an older computer, this might not be possible for you, but if you really want it, you might be able to find ways to do it on google.com.
1. On your Windows Media Center 2005 or later PC, go to Windows Update at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com. 2. Download all of the latest updates for the Windows Media Center PC. 3. On the X360, go to the Media Blade and select Media Center and press A. 4. On the Windows media Center PC, open the Media Center Extender Manager by clicking, All Programs>Accessories>Media Center>Media Center Extender Manager. 5. Click File>Add New Extender and follow the instruction wizard that appears. 6. On the X360, press A. Then you'll be given an 8 digit key. 7. Copy this key into the instruction wizard in the Media Center PC and finish the wizard. After your done, the PC and X360 should connect and you should be able to open the Windows Media Center from your X360. If it does not work, please post in this thread with the problem. - Written by Aurora Gaming
