Leaving for 9 days on saturday

On Saturday I'm heading over to a nearby university and i am gonna stay their for about 9 days to learn about medicine and healthcare, it is part of the whole lead america thingy

My mom is freaking that I wil be gone for long but it is only 9 days, when i am in college, il be gone for longer so i'm telling her it is kinda like a "test"

Mostly it will just be conferences, simulations, presentations, activities and going out to museums plus labs...

For me I pretty much have to stay home. Unless I feel like getting a job, I can't afford an apartment, because I'll spend most of my money paying for school, and gas money.

And its only an hour's drive from my house to Rice University.

Only an hour's drive lol? Imagine doing that everyday, you need to get up an extra hour earlier just to get ready for school, that must suck. You think you'll be able to get into Rice though?

Waking up an hour early doesn't really suck for me.

And the getting into Rice part, its where I want to go. For now, I'm not sure if I can get in or not. I certainly can't afford it, so I'll have to get a wicked amount of scholorships.

Yeah, I like Rice University as well, it's nice and they have a good baseball team. If you can't afford it, you could get scholarships from the Army or something to help you pay for it, it's not always something people consider, but it works if you want to go there to carry out your career, and you don't even need to be part of the fighting, you can be behind the lines with technology or something. That's what I'm going to do when I go to college to train to be a Combat Engineer.
