So, getting ready for Gears of War 2 i thought i may aswell truly make sure i am educated on the Gears of War story. Talk about the past and the possible future for the storyline anybody else want to discuss it ?
In brief, the story is like this if im correct: Set an unknown number of years into the future on the planet Sera, humans colonized the planet as Earth does not officially exist in the Gears of War universe. The humans have supposed to have lived on Sera for many years and its not as futuristic as it would seem (No spacecraft) there were regular cars and vehicles that would be found on Earth. Due to the Imulsion fiasco that caused the Pendulum Wars, the planet went through tough times for decades as war broke out. It ended on Emergence Day when the Locust emerged from the underground and destroyed nearly the entire Human race. They continued to fight and conquer the planets main cities in the ten years that followed. And that's where the COG vs Locust war was born. I for one believe the Locust are the natives of Sera, and had lived underground for a very long time until it was colonized by the humans and they chose to emerge and fight back for their planet. Also that not all Locust are the same "species" i believe the Corpsers, Brumaks and so on are tamed wild animals of the planet trained to fight beside them. If alot of this is officially revealed in Gears 2 il be very happy. I hope it made sense, so yeah i think Gears has an amazing story just like Halo and would like many more of you to appreciate it and discuss it. ![]() |

I'm not sure about where the Locust came from. I always thought they had been underground the whole time.
I do think it would be cool if the human home world sent in reinforcements. Think of it this way: the humans are exploring space and colonizing, Sera loses contact with the homeworld and doesn't know why (Locust tomfoolery), instead of working on reestablishing contact they begin the Imulsion War (distracts them from their "real" problems), Locusts attack and begin exterminating the humans. During all of this the human homeworld has sent reinforcements after not being able to regain contact with Sera. Due to how long they waited before launching the reinforcements and how long it takes for them to reach Sera we're looking at the reinforcements arriving late in GoW2 or sometime in GoW3.
