I didn't expect much from it, and i was right. Its exactly like the Spider-Man games and i hate those kind of games...it really ruins what could have been a great game. The missions are repedative as also expected and seem to have not been thought out properly. For example the whole "stealth" aspect that's put into it when you take a disguise is just ridiculous and doesn't feel like anything even remotely challenging because the AI are pathetic. The graphics are decent enough and running/flying from building to building is probably the best thing about the game. I find it hard to say really good things about it, it was overhyped but nowadays only VERY few games live up to the hype. Overall in my opinion the whole game just feels "bland" and un-entertaining.

This isn't a review, just my impression. For a rating, id probably only give it a 7/10.

Better than all games the same style, but still falls behind what i think everyone expected.

That is the problem with sandbox/open world games. They have been over done, so everything seems the same. If you go back an play GTA3, VC, or SA, you will most likely have the same "issues" about the game being repetitive.

With sandbox/open world games it is more about allowing the use to cause chaos rather then an actual story line.

I knew once they did the review embargo and didn't put out a demo that the game wasn't going to meet expectation.

Sort of a shame... I might still rent it though just to run around open world.

I'm still going to rent it though. Looks like an awesome game to rent, not buy.

Yes the story is cliche and pretty boring. Everything could have worked so well though, one of the things they did wrong was adding stupid mini game icons all over the map like the Spider-Man games, making the game feel overall downgraded. I know its what adds replay value and something else extra to do, but i just don't like it. Also their attempt at stealth is ridiculous and feels like they couldn't be bothered doing it "properly". For example, the missions that require you to consume someone for a disguise (just about every mission) you run into a military base full of soldiers, consume one and that's it they think your one of them...why couldn't they add a "wait for the soldier to be separated from the others" stealth gameplay to it, sure theres the upgraded Stealth Consume, but whats the point when you can use it infront of hundreds of enemy soldiers and they don't see anything...as i said, not enough effort has been put into the game.

Getting it in the mail tomorrow, I hope I'm not disappointed with it like you where I had high expectations for this game. Also how's the story cliche and boring?

Its just boring and stupid, the whole story is finding out what happened to you and every so far EVERY SINGLE MISSION is going to an apartment, getting a military disguise, doing some really annoying fighting and that's about it.

I wish it had destructible environments like Red Faction

That would have made it so much more fun.

Well the destructible environments are half the fun

pretty good game though. I really like the multiplayer. the single player is basically destroying targets (but its fun when they crumble in such beautiful fashion).

Haha, sounds like the destructible enviroments make the game if you are into that sort of thing.
