Default New DLC

» New (And Free) Downloadable Content Coming For Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Bethesda Softworks sent over a note announced they will release their last downloadable content extra for 2006's fantasy RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The download, titled Fighter's Stronghold, will launch on Oct. 15 for both the PC and Xbox 360 versions and for the first week will be free to download. Here is a snip:
Defeat the attacking marauders and become lord of Battlehorn Castle. Located in the Colovian Highlands west of Chorrol, this expansive castle will allow you to live the life of a noble warrior, with private quarters, grand dining hall, wine cellar, barracks, training room and more. And what castle would be complete without a few hidden passages and dark secrets?

Features:

A fully detailed castle for you to explore
Knights of the True Horn patrol the castle and do your bidding
Secret treasure vault
Upgrade the furnishings in every area of the castle
Hire a vintner to create special wines to enhance your fighting abilities
Hire a combat trainer to spar with
Hire a taxidermist to craft lifelike trophies for your great hall
Purchase an ancient Dwemer Forge that buffs your Armorer skill
On the Bethsoft blog site, PR head Pete Hines talks about the possible way they will bring the downloadable content to the PS3 version:

Since we’re talking about DLC, I thought I’d update you with what’s going on with the PS3 version of Oblivion. We are close, very close to working something out to bring Shivering Isles to PS3 owners. That may be in downloadable form via PSN, or as a standalone retail disc, or both. I can’t say definitively yet that it will happen, and I definitely can’t say when. But it’s looking good, and hopefully we’ll have good news soon. Don’t have anything I can tell you about any other DLC, but Shivering Isles is the one we get asked about all the time, so I at least wanted to update folks on that.
More cool new stuff! Bethesda is really doing a good job on bringing out new stuff for Oblivion... so stop it and bring us the next Elder Scrolls game!!!!

Very exciting. The GOTYE is also coming soon. A few months ago I remember saying i'd sell my regular edition of Oblivion to get the GOTYE...i'm not so sure about that anymore. Now with Halo 3 and Orange Box on my list, I think i'm going to stick with my regular edition of Oblivion - especially now that i'm not playing it that much anymore.

Not yet. I have everything I need to get on though.

There is a connection set up in my room, so all i'd need to do is bring up the 360 and a TV and I can jump on XBL.

I still don't have Halo 3 though

Well why don't you bring your 360 up to your room then? Its so worth it even if you have just a one month free of live.
