Nope Sega Dreamcast was the first to have functional online play. PS2 just made it popular and the Xbox made it feel like a new experience.

I heard that they were trying to make trophy able to see online like achievement but one of my major concern is that in order to get a trophy for a game you beat you have to play it again..... it just seems to loose and unstable from my POV

i think the update may have been pulled. a few people were trying to update that havent updated yet, and so i guess there were problems with the update.
