First off, I put this in the rant section because I didn't see the point of putting it in the GTAIV section even though it's about the game.

Well I should start by saying that I'm a hardcore gamer, I play games day in and day out when I have the chance, there's no way to get around. I also love a challenge in my games, I mean hell, who doesn't? But for the past couple of days GTA has serious been pissing me off.

Let's first start off with the random swaying in difficulty. Around hour 2-5 the game decides to turn things up from simple to "You will not survive" in the difficulty scale. This said, I've almost thrown my controller at my TV to missions in GTAIV. First one being The Snow Storm which has you get coke for Elisabetta. The mission starts off easy with you having to take down the gangsters who stole the coke.

quick side note: After the couple first shooting missions NEVER I mean NEVER go into a fire fight without armor. Trust me.

Anyways, the game decides that it wasn't enough for you to take down 40 guys but that you need to escape from NOOSE also. This is where the mission put me over the edge as you had take down more guys that will only raise your wanted level. So about after the 5th try, I said "**** it" and ran straight out of the building with the coke and got into the car. About 2 minutes later I had completed the mission. Which got me to thinking: " who the **** decided that the only way to complete the mission was to run your ass out of there like a little wimp?" I mean seriously WTF?

The other mission is the one where you must rescue Roman from the Russians, this mission in it's entirety wasn't that hard. It was basically a true mission where all you had to do was run 'n' gun your way to the final floor and take out the guy holding Roman hostage. Overall it took me about 10-15minutes to complete the shooting part of the mission... Then came escaping. My first time on the mission I almost died twice with a " **** that was close" because of all the explosives in the warehouse. Once I got Roman safely to the car you here on the radio about activity at the where house which meant, once again, you're going to outrun the police. Well Roman is still talking as we drive out the where house then BOOM! The truck explodes. When this happened my jaw fell to the ground as it felt like a century for me to do all the shooting just to blow up in a truck by nothing, no grenades, no rockets, just a random,F'ing, explosion. After that first time I just turned off my 360, couldn't continue if **** like that is going to happen at the end of a mission.

So to sum up my rant, GTA is slowly getting on my last nerve. I mean don't get me wrong, the game is a blast especially online, but the single player has truly been downhill for me which has always been GTA's strong point. I feel as if in a week or so I'll be trading in this game because of how irritating it has become.

The Snow Storm mission is the easiest ever.All you have to do is use the cover system so you won't get hit.And then before you even start the mission park a fast care like a banshee outside the building.

I went through that whole mission getting shot only like 3 times.You just need to play better.It's not a run and gun game like San Andreas.

Grand theft Auto 4 isn't a run and gun game like the others.The game isn't all that hard.If you think you have a problem with those missions wait till' you get to The Three Leaf Clover.

Just use the cover-system,use body armor,and get good guns and you will be set.

I can tell someone didn't completely read it though.

I use armour and cover and yea, I did Snow storm without cover and had half my armor gone. So yes, GTAIV is still a run and gun game, just harder without armour.

When I first played the mission where you have to rescue Roman I died the first time because I was just running around and not being patient.Then when I got better weapons and used cover I completed it.


But whatever just use cheats if you can't play it right idc.

I just find the game dull... that's my rant. Fix the cops so I can go on lengthy rampages and I might change my mind.

It's really not that hard. It takes patience. Take cover, shoot everyone, and move forward. If you really think thats frustrating then you wont beat the game. I just finished it today and the last couple of missions are way harder then what you thought was hard. My advice is to be patient through the rest of the game. Don't rush, and use cover. Take grenades to your advantage and use them. Stock up on weapons, armor, ammo etc. It's really not that hard. I felt the same as you, until i figured out i can't just run it in and kill everyone. As the game goes on it will get harder. And i figured that out, just take your time bro, it's not as difficult as you make it seem.

well idk if you know this but on "the snow storm" mission as soon as the cutscene ends after you get the coke, you can jump on the table where the coke was, and climb your way out of the building up to the 2nd or 3rd story and jump out a window. but i cant remember if i took a boat, or just stole a car. but anyways i got away and the mission was relatively easy. it just took me a bit before i figured out how to get on the wall partitions to climb out.

i realized on the snow storm mission that fighting your way out gets your wanted level higher and that those cops keep respawining, and running instantly got me no where so that lead me to think of an alternate escape such as climbing out.

i also dont know what you mean by the explosions on your way exiting the warehouse where you save roman. i might be thinking of the wrong mission but if its the one where mallorie calls you thinking hes been kidnapped. ive played that mission about 3 times and every time i do its really easy to escape. all you have to do is leave the warehouse and drive home. so i have no idea what the problem was there.

anyways i know what you mean. i got so pissed off at a few missions, i ripped my shirt in half.

I think i'm pretty close to that mission (i've already done 2 or three missions for her...). I haven't minded the difficulty, really. I just make sure to visit the weapons shop every few missions or so.

The mission where you had to save Roman i had to do a couple times because every fcking time i got to this one part, i ran up the stairs and they would shoot the barrel and it would blow up in my face. That really pissed me off, but i soon got it. Trial and error until you get it right.

well I got RROD (FINALLY). probably because I made this rant about GTA

But no worries, my uncle has 4 and said I could borrow one till mine comes in.

Anyways the rescue mission I'll go into a little more detail. You know the part after you kill the guy holding Roman hostage you walk down into the truck and what happened to me is that they're was police chatter with no wanted level and Roman was talking and as we drove out from the warehouse the car randomly explodes. No mines, trip wires, just, explodes. and that's what put me over the edge about this game is that I can go through 20 minutes of a mission just to get blown up at random.

I also killed EVERYONE I saw in the warehouse so that's what made it feel so random.

Thats just unlucky then, nothing you can really do about that. But yeah i was on the last mission yesterday and i was just about done with it, and i died. Made me start all the way from the beginning which took me about 20 minutes to get where i needed to go. So yeah, it happens to all of us.

Recoil I think your getting frusturated because your running in rambo style trying to just take everyone down. I got through the snow storm on my first try. Same with the Roman mission. On the shooting missions I take my time from the start and make sure I won't have to do it again. Honestly GTA 4 is really easy compared to past GTA's. I completed Three Leaf Clover last night and I seriously didn't know what people were getting all pissy about. That mission was really easy. I failed the first time because I let packie get too far but the 2nd time was so damn easy. The whole way through I kept thinking it would get harder but it didn't.

^It's all about using the cover system. You use that and your golden. Also getting easy headshots with your rifle. That mission was relatively easy for me too, i didn't get what was so hard about it either. But yeah cover system, use it, it works.
