ok, i really wanna update my console, but im afraid, because peoples 360's are crashing after this minor update, and i don't want mine to crash (i get scared).

does anyone have any ideas that will prevent my 360 from crashing 100% when i update it?

That can't be helped you just have to cross your fingers and update it my friend...

Yeah... I've yet to have any problems come to fruition due to an update but even if I had there is nothing I could do as a preventitive measure. :(

Mine hasn't crashed from any updates yet, but I may not have gotten the most recent one as my Live has been down for nearly the past week. When was the last update?

I have never heard of an update crashing the 360. I have had my 360 since the launch and have never had one problem. (Also have had all of the updates). If the 360 crashes because there was an update, something was already wrong with that Xbox. Unless you've had a significant amount of problems with your Xbox, all updates should work properly.

There are numerous reports and articles on the web regarding updates crashing or "bricking" a 360 console. I would find some for you but I'm hoping that I can be lazy and that someone else will find them and post a link. :P

Past updates have been known to give some 360s a few problems here and there, but updates will almost always help instead of harm your console. Regardless of if there is a chance an update may hurt you, you need to download the updates. These are intended to help your 360, add features, and fix old problems. Not updating, may harm your console in the long run.
