I've been managing getting my 360 on live, but it just isn't working.

When I test the "Test Xbox Live Connection", the "Network Adapter" passes and shows up as "wired". Then it tests the "IP Address" and it fails. When I select "More Info", a bunch of text shows up, but I can't read it because I'm using as incredibly old piece of crap television. If I press "Y" on the controller, it brings up a screen or "Status Codes" and says "Error Status Report", which reads:

W: 000-0008
X: 4000-1001
Y: 0000-0000
Z: 0000-0000

Any help you guys can give? :(

Just wondering...are you using it by unplugging the ethernet from your computer and the plugging it on your 360?

I didn't quite get that, but I'm using the ethernet cable that came with the 360 and I'm connecting one end to the 360 and the other end to my PCs modem.

Ok, are you using a cable modem or DSL? Or a router?

It's sort of complicated. Everyone refers to it as "wireless high speed internet".

Basically, I have this little box that has a usb and that connects to the USB on my PC. Then that connects to "pods" around my neighborhood.

Hmmm well that I do not have a real answer to. Though, I don't know if it will work or not, but try unplugging the modem...wait a few seconds and then plugg it back in. This will create a new IP address, and that might solve your problem. But I wouldn't recommend doing that too much because it is sensitive and if you constantly unplugg it and plugg it back in(which you will have to when you want to switch from using the internet and xbox live), it will damage the modem. But not if you only do it about a few times or more. It's not that common to break down because of that, but it will. That's my answer.

mine gets past the IP Address but my MTU failed...so what do I do, before I go back to my dad's
