So i had always thought my 360 was a solid machine, never freezing and never screwing up on me, until after a couple months since i had purchased it it began reading games as DVDs and sometimes it would not even be able to translate the disc at all (claiming it was dirty or scratched) i assumed dirty optics....so i cleaned the lens and after a while, no problems...but its starting up again and i just wanted to know if any of you guys who have expereinced this before can tell me the best possible solutions

same thing happened to me, with the disc reading as a dvd. but it wasn't like that, it knew it was a 360 game, but my 360 thought it was a dvd player  , i know it sounds like i'm crazy but it would say "to play this disc, place in an xbox 360 console."
anyway, i got a lens cleaner disc from gamestop for my 360 disc reader lens, i can't remeber if it worked, yet my problam hasn'toccured for months :D |

So after me and my dad called ms support and after speaking to a supervisor, they offered to do repairs for 50% off the original price of repairs, i think this is a pretty decent offer considering that they could just entirely replace my 360 and im basiclly only paying 70 bucks for a new one
