I cant play with other people on xboxlive....the settings test said I have a strict nat. I have a WRT54G wireless G linksys router. I have my 360 connected with cat 5 cable. How do I correct this problem? My pc is running windows xp media center edition.

are your DNS settings turned to automatic, do you have any ports disabled, most of all are you on a US military base?

Wow, all i did was place a static IP for all and i don't have any problems. You can set up your own IP on your network. (I think)

I had this problem once, the best was is to find your DNS and put it in manually and that should fix the problem.

I have frontier for isp. I'm working on changing my router settings. I'm doing a lot of googling about this problem. I'm lost for the moment but still trying.

when you set up your xbl settings did you put your dns on auto or manual?

:D I updated the firmware on my linksys wireless and ran set up again. Now I have an open nat :lol: I was able to connect to an xbox live race with pgr3 :D but had no luck connecting with cod3. Thats another thread I guess. Thanks for the help everyone. I'm glad I got the 360.

Well i think alot of people have had trouble connecting to cod3 so i wouldnt worry about it

Yep,

Moderate NAT- can connect with people with the same or open nat status

Open nat- can connect with nyone

Strict Nat- can only connect with open nat users

This is why sometimes people arent able to connect with everyone in the match
