My Xbox 360 is currently broken in a way, you see heres how the story goes...i had my computer fixed and while it was gone i had my WiFi modem connected to an old laptop, it worked fine for Xbox Live in my computers abcence, and just yesterday when i got it back all was fine until i played Halo 2, the connection was lost and it was trying to re establish it which commonly is fixed, but all of a sudden the screen went black and froze...i restarted my 360 and made sure everything Xbox Live was connected...it was all fine and my wireless adapter was working with the green light on..but i can only stay in a game or the dashboard no longer than 5 minutes until the screen either freezes or goes all stripey with a random colour when frozen. Also the light goes red on my wireless adapter but not the 360 itself. Today (i hope this is just a coincodence) but my friend told me his 360 also screwed up and said it keeps freezing which is the same problem i have! so i dont know whats up with it, even with my wireless adapter not connected and playing offline it still freezes. Please try and help me other than saying to send it to Microsoft, as i cant. My friend said Microsoft would do sh!t all so insted he will come over to my house tomorrow and see whats up as hes a meistro at everything technical. If that fails il have to wait for my other friends brother to fix his, then fix mine :\

Might be overheated, just let it sit turned off then play it later, that could be it.

It cant be overheated, i had it turned off for atleast 22 hours and tried again and still dosnt work. :(

EDIT: ok what the crap, i kept trying again and now i get hit with the ring of death. And at one point...an error message which i looked up and said to be the hard drives problem for some strange reason...well anyway i took it off and it still failed!!! i noticed if i keep it off longer, it gets to the dashboard rarely then dies. So i called Microsoft and the guy said its a genral hardware failure we need to fix and for me to send it for $200 coz my warranty expired!!! no way!!! with that money i can basiclly just buy a core system and keep my hard drive, which i may just end up doing in the end. Microsoft has some nerve..sorry to say it even though i love Xbox and support it so much, the 360 really is gay for that reason! The original Xbox had less failures than the 360!!! damn this im mad.

Sounds like you need to send it to Microsoft for repair. I'm on X-box 360 # 5, yes FIVE ! in 2 years. I just went out and bought a core system so I could "leap frog" during the numerous repair cycles. But on a good note, the people at the repair Ctr. are friendly and it only seems to take about 2 weeks..door to door. Good Luck.

Lol this thread is old, i already bought a new 360 with 3 year warranty. I couldnt send my old one because i voided the warranty by trying to get a friend to fix it.
