Default Weird noises and disc error

My Xbox 360 sometimes makes weird noises while playing Assassin's Creed. It makes tick tick noises and then I get the disc error message. I look at the disc and there are scratches that weren't there before. Has this happened to anyone else?

No but ofcoarse we have all had technical problems with our 360s, and the disc error one is quite common..it may be overheating or something im not sure but just take a deep breath and stay calm if you get the RROD. Best of luck it dosn't happen.

I've heard the weird noises with AC in my Xbox too, and it freezes for a second every now and then. I take it out and theres no scratches on it for me. So I'm really not sure, it's been doing this to me for quite a while and I've gotten used to it.

Yeah, my 360 is acting up too right now. Any weird noises you hear is probably your 360 raping your disc (which then causes the scratches and even more errors).

It's raped my COD4 and GHIII so far. Mine's also failing to read ANY disc so I'll be using my Best Buy warranty soon.

Could be how the software is being run threw the disk reader, could be the problem with the code I guess.

Or there is an unknown disk slot malfunction.

It happened to me and was what led me to have to get a new console.

There are some troubleshooting steps to unplug and replug the console, clean it, etc. but nothing worked for me.

What is the manufacture date of your console (look on back).

Well, if all else fails, turn your Xbox on for the next 48 hours and get the RROD and send it in.

I've only had this problem with Assassin's Creed and Oblivion.

My friend had that same problem. His Xbox couldn't read ANY discs so he was stuck playing arcade games during the wait for the box to put his Xbox in.

I wonder why they just don't send you a new one? They actually try to fix yours before they send you a new one. Unless they do fix it.
