I keep getting the disc is unreadable error when playing Gears of War, it's happened twice already..i play for about an hour or so then my 360 makes a sound like an old motor and the error comes up, redirecting me to the dashboard..if my 360 gets the 3 RROD again il just buy another one like Gravity, no way im waiting 2-3 weeks!

I always used to get that when i played GoW. Some reason that disc does not like to be played on Xbox, it always gave me problems. I barely have any problems with other ones but this one always gave me a probem.

this usually happens because your xbox is really dusty, the only thing to do is buy a fan and try to blow out all of the dust. also check for scratches on the disc, minor ones dont really do damage, but think deep ones can cause it not to work. get an cleaning cloth and rub it in a circular motion from in to out, and then try it.

Omg it seems to be only when a new match and map is loading in GoW..twice now after finishing a match with no problems when the loading screen is up it makes a failing sound and takes me to the dashboard with the error message.

Thats exactly when it froze for me/error message/disc reader problem etc. But it seems whenever it loads something, looking for games, joining them, new maps seems to not make it all the way through.

Try renting GoW and check if it's a problem with your disc (since it always occurs at a specific point as far as I understood).
Also try changing your console position (from vertical to horizontal and vice versa). I don't think this could be the problem, but who knows??? |
