To be honest, we almost feel a bit dirty posting this rumor. The game that for all intents and purposes, is COD5, is currently still being teased, and there's already rumors about the next game? Indeed there is, thus the faintly dirty feeling. Apparently an Infinity Ward team member spoke to someone from TalkPlaystation.com and told them that the company is at work on a new sci-fi title that may or may not see reveal at E3.

With Call of Duty: World at War returning to the familiar territory of WWII, and the series' current hit staking the claim of Modern Warfare it would seem to make sense that Infinity Ward would want to jump things into the future. If this ends up being accurate (heck, they could be working on a non-COD sci-fi game too) let's hope Infinity Ward can do better than some other popular franchises that have used a futuristic setting. We can't help but get flashbacks of the ill-fated Battlefield: 2142 ...

Only a few CoD-like games have been successful with the Sci-fi setting. They might go that direction, but I think it won't be with CoD6, but with a later game.

This is stupid. COD5 isn't even released yet and some jackass starts a rumour about COD6? Give it a rest...

^I would agree with you but i don't. I don't because there are 2 different companies working on the same series. Therefor while Treyarch is making CoD 5, Infinity Ward could already be brainstorming on the 6th one in which i hope goes future. Seeing the success in CoD 4, i think Infinity Ward can kick it up a notch in the 6th one. I hope this rumor is true.

Yeah I was talking to some friends on LIVE a few months ago and I thought about this and named it the same, Futuristic Warfare....them dam spies, stealing my ideas.

Well I hope this is true cause I'm tired of the old times and present "give me more".

Anyway, i guess I'm not really surprised to hear rumors on CoD 6. Most of the time we only hear about one company making a series whereas 2 are now in 1 game. I wouldn't doubt it if this was true as well.

It never lived up to the hype, nor was it as successful as its predecessors. BF1942 and BF2.

yeah I dont think that COD is the standing around shooting type...its nore fast paced, kill people for real and have fun...including the MP

Lol your kidding? If CoD 6 does go future, it would probably be nothing like Mass Effect. They would both be in the future, but they're 2 completely different games. I don't know where you got that from.
