Filed under both the "frowny face" and "umm, duh?" news categories is confirmation from Ubisoft that there will be no Assassin's Creed sequel releasing in 2008. Laurent Detoc, the uber rich president of Ubisoft North America, told Forbes that " there's no new 'Assassin's Creed' this year, despite its sales success," but that "when we bring it back, there will be more anticipation for it." And even though you're semi-sad about the news, it isn't like you expected to be assassinating in 2008 anyway ... right? Don't kid yourself kiddo.

Did anyone actually think it was going to come out this year? I thought all along it would be next year. Don't get me wrong... I'd take it if it came out this year.

I didn't really think about it. I haven't thought about Assassins ever since I finished the game.

There are other games coming out this year so I'm actually happy that this isn't coming out this year. And having it come out next year sometime would be good, just to make it better.

AC is a great game and I would be glad to buy the next one but after you beat the game.....there is seriously nothing to do
