Rumorang: Forza 3 'core game' will be on one disc

Last week we reported that Forza 3's sheer glut of content may mean the game will span two discs -- a feat not performed in console racing titles since Gran Turismo 2 back in 1999.

Fears of frequent disc swapping have been tentatively belayed, however. The Angry Pixel reports that only one disc will hold the "core game" content, presumably with the second disc holding additional, non-integral features. This possible scenario comes from a source at Dhruva Interactive, an India-based game developer contracted to deliver 3D assets for Forza 3.

The source also states that more news on the anticipated racing title is coming "fairly soon," so we'll hopefully get to the bottom of this "2 discs 1 game" rumor in the near future.

Im thinking almost GT2 like where it was most of the cars and all of the major gameplay elements one the first disk. and the cars that didnt fit on the second.

But they'll probably have the ability to download the cars you want from the second disk so you dont have to swamp just to drive that supercharged Maybach on the second disk.

It'd be nice if we could download the contents of the disk onto our harddrives. That would make everything a whole lot easier.

But if that content exceeds 9.5gbs then it has to be on another disk....they could have disk two be something you have to download to your hardrive or memory card and disc one would just retrieve that content.

But if the entire game is like 15gb then they would have to sell the game on two disks because people with just memory cards can not hold 4.5gbs of info.
