Stay on topic.

If Mass Effect 2 really wants to surpass Mass Effect 1, they need to make it longer. They should have about 8-10 main missions with the same quality as Noveria.

I am really intrigued to see what direction they will take the story. I am also looking forward to using my level 59 Mass Effect 1 character in Mass Effect 2.

This isn't that surprising. I mean, shouldn't every sequel surpass the original?

Can you do that? Use a character from Mass Effect 1 in Mass Effect 2?

Well, I wouldn't be so sure of that. People who develop these games do it for money and once they have made an awesome game they can just churn out a piece of turd and it will still sell well. But then that will make the third game (if there is one) unappealing so I guess to a certain extent they do have to try to improve on the previous game.

Yep. They also confirmed and announced that you will be able to import your Mass Effect 1 character and use him in Mass Effect 2. So don't delete your Mass Effect 1 gamesaves!

^That was announced right after the first game came out. They said to keep your saves because your character would port right into the next game.
