From Bungie.net:

Add to that the fact that we will have new maps built specifically for the Vista version and a map editor, and cross-platform matchmaking becomes even more complex and less realistic.
Aww...should be cool to look at screens, at least, even if I probably won't be playing on them.

Heheh...
Actually, I like it this way. Console gamers should be restricted to the same maps so there isn't constant map downloading and everyone knows their way around, but...actually, I don't think I'm making much sense, but a map editor seems to fit better with a Pc than a console version, to me.

If Halo 2 had a map editor it would probably lead to heightened cheating (because people would know the secrets of their own made maps), but it would make the game a lot more replayable and refreshing to be able to make your own maps :D

I think making your own maps would probably only be used in custom games. Therefore cheating would not really matter.

That was for Halo PC. And no, I think a map editor for consoles - especially for Halo - would be BAD.

^^^Something like that, yeah. I rarely found a quality on Far Cry: Instincts, which had a map editor.
