There is a preview up at Teamxbox of Fable 2: http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1470/Fable-2/p1/
and it contains all the details (well, ambitions) that Peter Molyneux stated for Fable 2. Among them, he says you can plant an acorn and then come back years later to see a tree, get married and actually have kids, the combat will be similar to Fable's with a few improvements, and there's a super secret surprise that he can't reveal yet. Honestly if this Fable 2 doesn't have an open world like Oblivion's, i won't even bother getting it. I can't even describe how disapointed i was with Fable. I imagined it to be like Morrowind in terms of depth and much rather it was as deep as a drop of water (and the fragmented world was so annoying). So lets discuss Fable 2. Who thinks it will be another disapointment? and who thinks that PM will finally deliver what he promises? |

Fable was alright, it was more of a screw around game. I agree with you, if its not an open world, i wouldn't get as much sell as they did with there first one. In other words, Failure.

Ya it wasn't much of a go backwards and do stuff again for the fun of it type of game. It does suck you have to like play it again, with out the crap you get. It might get better with Fable 2. You never know it might suck even worst :(.

I thought Fable was pretty fun. I enjoyed the Lost Chapters quite a bit. For me... I think Oblivion is a failure of a game and stopped playing and replayed Fable again. All of the glitches and bugs and stupid things that they missed in the testing stages of Oblivion just... irked me something fierce. I understand that I'm an exception since most people probably didn't have the issues with Oblivion I did but for me... that game sucks.
I think if Fable2 follows up on half of what they promise it will be a great game. They learned their lesson after Fable. Don't promise more than you can deliver and they have a lot to prove now. I have faith that they will do whatever they can to make Fable2 the game it should be. Now when do we get Oblivion2 and are they going to actually beta test it?

I could overlook a lot of the issues in Oblivion but there were mulitple story-line missions that I couldn't finish for some reason and then for some completely unknown reason 10+ hours further into the game I would try it again and it would work. Then there was the "issue" that destroyed my save files while I was trying to accomplish a side quest.
I'm not a "thrower" but that game cost me 2 360 controllers before I finally just gave up.

When will Peter Molyneux learn to shut the fudge up.
Fable 1 would have been better if he didnt promise everyone great things and overhype the game. Then when it was released, none of his features were there and the game was good, but would have been better if everyone didnt have to think, "What if he did include this feature." So, he announces fable 2, does a great job of shutting up and says, last time i promised so many things and couldnt deliver. THEN, a month later, what does he do. Promises a ton of new things. And then, he promises this super secret feature that will revolutionize games forever. Now he just got everyone hyped up, again, and if it isnt the greatest thing ever, fable 2 will once again be a dissapointment |

Really i mean since the very moment Xbox came out, i heard about Fable. IN the first OXM issue they had the top reason to get an Xbox and Fable was one of the reasons (this is back in 2001). going back and reading some of the stuff it just makes made me even more disapointed. For instance, they said you could cut down trees and they'd be gone forever, plant seeds and see things grow later in the game, etc. ANd the world of Fable was rather pathetic. Half of the place is the dark woods/mashes that i went once or twice for missions and then just never went back. I also hated how there were fragmented areas of the map rather than a free roaming land to explore. The NPCs also all looked the same and didn't have the kind of reactions like PM said. Now that it is a next-gen, i think that more of PM's ambitions will be able to see light. Truly though he does overhype every game he makes (especially Fable and the Black & White games) |

Well since I wasn't an Xbox fan until last year I missed all the Fable hype so I wasn't dissapointed with the game. I thought it was fun. I may have to ignore the hype for Fable 2 so I can enjoy it.
