March 5, 2007 - Many eyebrows were raised when it was learned that Microsoft's and FASA's upcoming FPS Shadowrun would not feature a single-player mode. As it turns out, that won't be the only common mode left out of the game.

Writing on Shadowrun's official forums, FASA's Lead Program Manager, "Kimona," confirms the game will not feature split-screen play. "We wanted to do it and had a good deal of the work done for it already. But there was a lot of UI and testing work remaining. We decided to focus on making what we have even more polished and clean."

Shadowrun is being touted as the first game to take advantage of Microsoft's Live Anywhere service, which will allow players on Xbox 360 and PC to compete against one another. And without the ability to have your buddies over and play on one screen, PC and 360 owners may not have a choice but to make nice and play together.
