I got an Xbox 360 not even two weeks ago, so my opinion here doesn't matter much. I like the dashboard right now. If I want to do something (like play a game, listen to music, whatever) I can get to it very easily. Which is the main reason for a dashboard, after all.

It is easy but it could be easier without going though 3 menu screens...

if you look at the guys analyzation (even though its off), you can see that the current dashboard has alot of unused space. then if you look at the one he made it has no unused space. too much on one screen. bad idea. though i can see microsoft making something like this (less cluttered and a ****load better) for the xbox 3. besides a dashboard 2.0; what would the people do with their themes that they downloaded and bought.

^And that is probably the best point in this thread. MS would have too many angry DLC purchasers if they completely flipped how the dashboard looks and operates.

well, they could release New versions ov the same theme with the new dashboard, and have it there for free for those who already have it for the other dashboard

besides, You can only use One Theme, it's not like there's one amazing theme, then all ov the others suck hardcore Dx

and I'm still using the Bungie Day 2007 theme :p

and I still think the Xbox 3's dashboard should be something like that.

I own something close to 50 themes. I know a ton of other people who have purchased a bunch of themes as well. Also, it would be such a gigantic undertaking to redo all of the themes so they'd work with this new dashboard. I don't think we'll see anything this radical on this console.

I like it. Seems like it might be a bit cluttered. I like the PS3's interface and the upcoming 360 one because of their smooth look, but IMO this mock-up would be quicker to use. Not so much scrolling vertical or horizontal.

One step that a lot of people would like is to make this update optional, or at least some parts of it optional. Such as the whole avatar and dashboard update. The system and security fixes should be mandatory, but the dashboard and avatar should not. That would allow themes and gamerpics to still be of good use, and allows people who want to use the avatar system to be able to use them. This also shouldn't really effect M$ sales anyway, because they make no money from the update, and this would please both sides of the dashboard war.

Not only that, but they would be able to continue sales of gamerpics and the old themes fit with the old dashboard, as well as sell themes and avatar clothes for people who want the new update.

It would make a lot of sense to please both, as it will not hinder MS in any possible way. Unless there is some kind of huge security flaw in our current dashboard.

There's my 2 cents.
