· Play from hard drive. Copy your games from the game disc and play directly from the hard drive. Not only will the drive not spin, but load times are quicker, as well. Of course, you will still need the disc in the tray to prove you own the game.

its basically what the Ps3 does for games to make them load fast but instead we're just going to have them load twice as fast = GTAIV load time being ultra short

i actually HATE the avatars right now, theyre in like everything, like in that uno demo, reminds me too much of my wii, i liked them being seperate. the gamertag looks better imo

Your are not the only one. I hate the rolladex style that they are using. I think MS needs to quit following both Sony and Nintendo and do something original. On the video I saw on XBL, it showed a Mii-like channel for Avatars where they were walking down a street with your other friends.

Also, this maybe why we did not get a spring update, because MS was putting resources into the redesign.

I am right there with you. I posted in another one of the threads here about them that maybe they should give an option based on the zone you are in if you want get an Avatar or not. This to me seems aimed to the casual gamer, but forced on the hardcore gamer.

Yeah, it really should have a choice. I, for one, love the new avatar system, but there really should be a choice of which one we want to use.

I watched the video last night, and I don't like how they're completely changing it through software >.<

I'd rather it be in the Next Xbox or something...

Another rumor that I have heard was that you could copy your game to your HDD and that would make everything load faster etc. But you still have to have your disk in the disk tray.
