So they're thinking about making a subscription for sports games, that will allow you to update your rosters and such? Am i getting this right? If i am, this would be ridiculous, they want to rip out every nickle and dime in your pocket.

updating rosters without having to buy another game sounds good. but paying for it is stupid. good for people who dont buy sports games frequently, and are enthusiasts.

That article said they (EA) didn't specify what they meant by this... which means you can pretty much speculate whatever you want right now.

They said minute-by-minute, that's one hell of a roster subscription. Still not worth the money, but hey, you gotta admit its a cool feature.

^That would be stupid. There usually isn't good players put on teams that you would worry about for a roster update. Usually big things happen like that in the off-season and before trade deadlines.

I think the minute by minute thing would be some what cool, but paying for it would not be. I mean, if your team has "live" stats, where player X has a really good game. At the end of the game his stats would be updated to reflect this information.

I am surprised EA has not down something like Madden 08 Super Bowl edition, were the teams are updated and stats updated like a month after each Super Bowl (or any championship game) to reflect the changes that happened in the season.

This also seems like another feature that if EA had additional competition in creating sports games, would be free. Now because they basically own a lot of sports where they are the only ones that make a game for that sport, they can offer it as a paid feature.

It also shows that they may feel like they don't have to make sports games yearly.
