And in the mean time they are creating a gaming enviroment that I, and many other gamers, have no interest in. Does anyone really think that we aren't going to reach the point where we have to have these stupid avatars and we'll be forced to move from our "house" to the "park" so we can play games. The future of videogames looks bleak with its pink bunny slippers and security bubble disinfectant world.

Nintendo did not start the craze. Think flash games for starting the "casual gamer" vs "hardcore gamer". Nintendo just perfected the art of marketing to that group, which would not be hard considering that they were already marketing to a lot of younger causal players. Sony and Microsoft, are just trying to cash in on what is suppose to be a big market. Nintendo did their research, and is getting a bigger piece of the market.

Really. All the casual gamers are on the Wii. All the hardcore gamers are on the Xbox 360, and all the loyal PS fanboys and occasional hardcore as well as casual gamers are on the PS3.
Really, Nintendo is mostly all casual.
