I can agree with some of them. While PSN is nice I think it still cant compete with XBL. PSN is trying to copy everything XBL had before and Home is probably their most original thing. My cousin owns a PS3 and I've played it atleast 200 times this past year( cause Im constantly at his dorm room). and I can see why you would get a PS3. I like PS3 also but I wont buy one until Tekken 6.

An argument to switch over to the PS3 because of Microsoft charging people for things is very stupid IMO. You don't need to pay anything besides XBL which is very cheap. Like Gravity just said 50 bucks for a year isn't bad at all, and i think it's a hell of a lot better then the PS3. I played the PS3 once online and i really don't think it compares to how easy and everything is on the 360. The price monthly for XBL is very reasonable seeing the things you get, (I.E. this upcoming dashboard update which looks great) and how accessible and easy everything is, even when your in a game. Complaining about prices isn't a valid argument, you're not forced to buy any of it.
I do respect your opinion Steveo and your reasoning is good, excluding the fact of money. |

im just saying that it all adds up. and thats just services. if the position of your xbox and tv and router are inconvienient then you would probably end up buying wireless adapter which costs 100 dollars. and those who break headsets (like me) pay 20 bucks for each headset. so i ended up getting a wireless headset for about 60 dollars (which shouldnt be as hard to break). ive spent about 120 dollars on headsets (3 broke 1 wireless bought), 100 dollars for connectivity, and 100 dollars for live so far. thats 320 dollars of course those are just luxury items that arent needed, but it is very useful to have such items. for the playstation all ive had to buy so far is a bluetooth headset from plantronics which costed about 30 bucks. so ive only spent 30 dollars for accessories, headsets, and playstation network. thats a fair deal to me. |

Potential yes, but knowing Sony from the past they never know what they have in front of their faces. Also good luck with your free online, you will come to know it is ****y having no one looking over it. You will have more down time then us, more lag then us, no one has mics, not that much of a community to play with I think live has like what 3 Million? How much does PSN have? You'll come back, you will.

i also have some software issues with the xbox that still need to be fixed. maybe with the nxe. and if my judgement is wrong, which i have a strong feeling that its not, then after i sell my xbox 360 i wont get another one ill probably just wait untill the xbox 3 releases. |

And just a question, do you really think PSN is better than XBL? |

the mics breaking so many times is just out of luck. 2 of my wired mics my cat chewed up, and 1 of them i accidentally stepped on, and broke the little connector. psn and xbox live are about the same. but seriously when you think about it in a logical sort of way your paying 50 dollars a year for xbox live for 1 or 2 features that playstation network does not have. im sure if microsoft hadnt patented everything they made on the xbox, playstation network would be equal or better, free of charge. and like i said before alot of the great games are on both xbox and ps3 now. and the playstation 3 exclusives look way more interesting to me. |

Yeah, I never thought about your dad's passing factoring into how you account for paying for everything. But I would say you should definitely go with the PS3 then. It's free, and you do not need to worry about paying for anything other than the games you want to play.

I have my own account on PSN for almost 2 years and I've only made 10 FRIENDS. I repeat, 10 FRIENDS! The community is crap to be honest. the 10 people I know are either people from my cousins dorm or people I'm friends with in RL or relatives. A And if you want to talk about game fads PSN is worse than XBL. There is truly only 3 games that I can rely on to have a nice amount of people. CoD4, Warhawk, and MGS4. Every other game is almost empty all the time. Also like mentioned. You may pay 30 bucks for a bluetooth but only 30-40% of the community uses them. I go into so many matches where it's dead silent then on XBL in a Halo or Gears match. It almost took them 2 years to get any decent XMB and game intergaration. I guess that best way to put it is: on XBL you truly feel like a community (like X3E), but on PSN you feel more anti-social due to the lack ingration of game and XMB, and less mic use. |
