Sweet news for those who don't want to use the new interface. According to Major Nelson, via Xbox 360 Game News, Reviews, and Columns - XboxFocus the new dashboard is optional. There is one location where it will be located, and if you don't want to us it you don't have to use it.

I wonder if you don't use if you will still get the other features like the NetFlix streaming or the 8 player chat. Most likely MS will force you to use the new dashboard to use these features.

^That's what i said before. If you don't update the new dashboard then your going to miss out on all the features that you'd probably want to use, forcing you to update it.

Well according to the article it seems like the new dashboard will be there, but you don't have to use it. Here is the quote from the site.

So it seems like the Guide section, as MS is calling it, is going to be a different part of the dashboard, and not the entire dashboard itself.

If someone doesn't like the new dashboard they can suck it up. They've got nothing to lose seeing how our current dashboard is a piece of ****.

I honestly don't mind the new dashboard... I'm just not sure about the avatars yet. We'll all be able to experience it first hand soon though.

It is awsome, we all can go online and watch a movie together.....it would be nice if we all chip in, like there is a party of five of use, and we want to watch the dark knight we each split the 420 price on it....

i knew the avatars were coming and they look lame the only 1 vs 100 may sound intresting afterall he said you can win prizes but NetFlix probably was the one that alot of people will be using when i get the new experience this fall
